چکیده

In approaches to quantum gravity, where smooth spacetime is an emergent approximation of a discrete Planckian fundamental structure, any effective field theoretical description would miss part the degrees freedom and thus break unitarity. This applicable also trivial gravitational (low energy) idealizations realized by use Minkowski background geometry which, as with other geometry, corresponds, in description, infinitely many different closely degenerate microstates. The existence such microstates provides large reservoir q-bit for information be coded at end black hole evaporation opens way natural resolution puzzle. this paper we show that these expectations can made precise simple gravity model cosmology motivated loop gravity. Concretely, even when fundamentally unitary, microscopic irrelevant low-energy cosmological observers are suitably ignored, pure states evolve into mixed due decoherence structure. Moreover, relevant physical regime hidden do not carry “energy” realize, fully context, idea (emphasized before Unruh Wald) take place without dissipation, now concrete strongly All strengthens perspective quite conservative puzzle destroyed but simply degraded (made unavailable observers) correlations structure Planck scale.

Quantum gravity constraints from unitarity and analyticity

We derive rigorous bounds on corrections to Einstein gravity using unitarity and analyticity of graviton scattering amplitudes. In D ≥ 4 spacetime dimensions, these consistency conditions mandate positive coefficients for certain quartic curvature operators. We systematically enumerate all such positivity bounds in D 1⁄4 4 and D 1⁄4 5 before extending to D ≥ 6. Afterwards, we derive positivity ...

Problem of Unitarity and Quantum Corrections in Semiclassical Quantum Gravity

Using the Born-Oppenheimer idea we show that the Wheeler-DeWitt equation in an oscillating regime can also allow a different type of semiclassical quantum gravity that preserves completely the unitary quantum evolution of a matter field, which reduces the same asymptotic limit as the others. We develop a perturbation method to find the quantum corrections of a matter field to the gravity. The s...

Quantum Gravity and Non-unitarity in Black Hole Evaporation

We discuss the relevance of quantum gravitational corrections to the functional Schrödinger equation for the information loss paradox in black hole evaporation. These corrections are found from the Wheeler-DeWitt equation through a semiclassical expansion scheme. The dominant contribution in the final evaporation stage, when the black hole approaches the Planck regime, is a term which explicitl...

Unitarity Condition on Quantum Fields in Semiclassical Gravity

The condition for the unitarity of a quantum field is investigated in semiclassical gravity from the Wheeler-DeWitt equation. It is found that the quantum field preserves unitarity asymptotically in the Lorentzian universe, but does not preserve unitarity completely in the Euclidean universe. In particular we obtain a very simple matter field equation in the basis of the generalized invariant o...

SNUTP-96115 gr-qc/9611040 Problem of Unitarity and Quantum Corrections in Semiclassical Quantum Gravity

Using both the Born-Oppenheimer idea and the de Broglie-Bohm interpretation of wavefunction we represent in a different way the semiclassical quantum gravity from the Wheeler-DeWitt equation in an oscillating regime which can preserve completely the unitary quantum evolution of a matter field at the expense of a nonlinear gravitational field equation, but has the same asymptotic limit as the ot...
